Poker Rules
Texas Hold'em
First Betting Round
The dealer (indicated by the dealer button) deals two cards to each player. Only the player who receives the cards can view them.
- The player on the left of the dealer posts the small blind (minimum chip value).
- The player on the left of the small blind posts the big blind (double the small blind).
Step 1: First Betting Round
The first player to act is to the left of the big blind. Actions are taken clockwise:
- Options: Fold, Call, or Raise.
- Big blind player can Fold or Call.
- If the small blind raises, other players may Call or Pass.
Step 2: The Flop
The dealer places 3 community cards face-up on the table.
Step 3: Second Betting Round
The first remaining player to the left of the dealer starts the betting.
Step 4: The Turn
The dealer places the 4th community card, called the Turn.
Step 5: The River
The dealer places the 5th and final community card, called the River.
Step 6: Showdown
Players reveal their cards when a bet or re-raise is not followed. The winner takes the pot and the next hand begins.
Omaha Poker
Omaha Poker follows the same rules as Texas Hold’em with two exceptions:
- Each player receives 4 pocket cards instead of 2.
- Players must use exactly 2 pocket cards and 3 community cards to make their best hand.
Omaha Hi/Lo
Same as Omaha, but the pot can be split:
- Hi hand: Best ranking hand (same as standard Omaha/Texas Hold’em).
- Lo hand: 5 different cards below 9. Players must use 2 pocket cards.
- If one Lo hand winner: Pot split 50/50 between Hi and Lo hands.
- If multiple Lo winners: Compare highest of lowest ranking cards, then next highest, etc.
